General

After moving its functionality to the Merchant Center, we are deprecating ImpEx on 31 December 2024. By including this functionality within the Merchant Center, you can manage all aspects of your Composable Commerce Projects with a single interface and take advantage of single sign-on.

Replacement functionality, including CSV import/export, the API Explorer, and the GraphQL IDE, will become available in the Merchant Center between now and the deprecation date.

To be informed when replacement functionality becomes available, subscribe to the Merchant Center Release Notes RSS feed.

What does this mean for you?

We recommend that you start using the replacement functionality within the Merchant Center as it becomes available. If you need help, or want to provide feedback, please contact support.

Why is ImpEx being deprecated?

ImpEx no longer meets our high standards for user experience and overall performance. As a standalone application, it requires users to often switch between ImpEx and the Merchant Center. By consolidating this functionality into the Merchant Center, users can enjoy a more convenient and secure way to perform daily tasks.

What ImpEx functionality is currently available in the Merchant Center?

See Import data and Export data.

What will happen to the ImpEx CLI tools and SDK?

The ImpEx CLI tools will remain accessible but will no longer be supported or receive updates.

What are the benefits of ImpEx's functionality being in the Merchant Center?

  • Import/export functionality is now aligned with the Merchant Center permission settings.
  • You can import and export Custom Fields for all supported resource types.
  • You can split large Product import/export tasks to only include assets, images, pricing, and price tiers.
  • You can use the Merchant Center's filtering, search, and selection tools to choose which resources to export.
  • You can monitor the progress of an import and cancel if necessary.
