We have updated the public documentation for Commerce MCP, formerly referred to as Essentials MCP, to clarify and confirm the permitted scope of use.
This ensures service availability and proper licensing for commercial deployments.
The introduced terms clarify the distinction between permissible non-commercial use (development, evaluation, and testing) and use in a production environment or for commercial purposes.
- Non-commercial use (no charge).
- commercetools permits the use of Commerce MCP for development, evaluation, and testing purposes without charge.
- This non-commercial use is subject to a general cap of 1 000 000 (one million) tool invocations in total.
- Commercial/production use (license required).
- Any use of Commerce MCP in a production environment or for any other commercial purposes requires a paid license or subscription.
