Variant Projections BETA now embed the categories and categoryOrderHints fields of the parent Product. Storefronts that build product detail pages directly from a Variant Projection can render breadcrumbs and category navigation without a separate request for Product-level data.

The following changes were introduced for the HTTP API:

  • The VariantProjection type now includes the categories and categoryOrderHints fields.
