# InStore installation and setup overview

Installing and setting up commercetools InStore.

## Prerequisites

Before you can use commercetools InStore, you need to complete the following steps:

1. [Install the required InStore components](/instore/implement-instore/integrate-with-instore/overview.md#install-the-required-instore-components).
2. [Set up and configure a Project](/instore/implement-instore/integrate-with-instore/set-up-your-composable-commerce-project.md).

## Install the required InStore components

### Integration approach

If you use a self-hosted or custom integration approach, use a secure server-side integration layer to connect InStore to your Project.

### InStore modules

You can use some or all of the InStore [modules](/instore/implement-instore/modules/working-with-instore-modules.md), some of which are hosted by commercetools.

### InStore Center

To manage devices, users, and settings, use the [InStore Center](/instore/use-the-instore-center/overview.md).

### Payments

To build the payment options that store associates will use to ring up Customers in InStore, see [Build payment components](/instore/integration/payments/build-payment-components.md).

### Printers
