PaymentsRefunds
Before InStore processes a return, the store associate now sees a refund plan to review with the shopper. The plan applies the primary and fallback refund tenders and how amounts are split between them that you configure, for both simple returns and complex ones that split a refund across multiple tenders or Orders. The associate can override the proposed method to match what the shopper wants instead, for example when the original card no longer exists, or when a gift return should go to the gift recipient's card rather than the purchaser's.
If your payment processor declines a refund attempt, the associate can retry it or switch to a fallback tender instead, so a complex return can still complete without reversing any tenders that already succeeded. Cash tenders are aggregated and processed last, as with payments, so the cash drawer opens only once per return.
