Manage your Identity account

Learn how to create and manage your Identity account.

Identity is an authentication service that provides access to commercetools business tools and other offerings using a single account.

Create an Identity account

To create an Identity account:

  1. Click Create new account.
  2. Enter the same email address that you used for your other accounts, then click Continue. We'll send an invitation to your email.

    If you don't receive an email, you should do the following:

  3. Open the email and click Create your account to open the sign-up form.
  4. Fill out the form, then click Create account.
When you try to access a supported tool or service, you'll be redirected to a sign-in page where you will need to provide your Identity credentials. After authenticating with your Identity account, you'll be brought back to the tool or service.

Reset your password

The instructions in this section are only valid for users who authenticate with email and password.

If you've forgotten your password:

  1. Visit https://identity.commercetools.com.
  2. Enter your email address, then click Next.
  3. Click Forgot password, then click Reset password to be sent an email containing a recovery code.
  4. Enter the recovery code, then click Reset password.
  5. Enter a new password and then re-enter it to confirm.
  6. Click Change password.

After resetting your password, you'll be asked to sign in again.

Change your password

The instructions in this section are only valid for users who authenticate with email and password.

To change your Identity account password:

  1. From the Identity homepage, navigate to Account Settings > Security.
  2. Click Update Password.
  3. Enter a new password, then re-enter it to confirm.
  4. Click Reset Password.

Delete your account

Deleted accounts cannot be recovered.

To delete your Identity account, you must first delete all linked accounts from their respective applications.

To delete your Identity account:

  1. From the Identity homepage, navigate to Account Settings > Security.
  2. Click Request account deletion, then enter your email address.
  3. Click Initiate account deletion.

We'll send an email to confirm your request.
