Learn about customizing Payment Integrations in Checkout.
Presenting your Payment Integrations in a consistent manner can help improve your brand and customer experience. With customized Payment Integrations, you can use the Merchant Center to fully customize the look of your Payment Integrations in Checkout to reflect your brand and locale preferences. You can customize the following for each Payment Integration and localize them to support multiple languages:
- Name
- Description
- Icon
- Text of the last button of Checkout; for example, Complete purchase
Some payment methods, such as PayPal, Apple Pay, and Google Pay use their own branded buttons that cannot be customized.
Types of payment methods
Checkout supports two types of payment methods: pre-defined and custom payment methods.
You can customize only payment methods that are integrated by using the web component integration type.
Pre-defined payment methods
These methods are the built-in payment methods we support, such as credit cards and Klarna, which have pre-defined names, descriptions, and icons in multiple languages by default. You can use the default settings or you can override them in the Merchant Center. You can customize all fields or only a few. For fields that you don't customize, the default values are used.
Custom payment methods
These methods are added either through your own Connector or via a third-party connector. For these methods, you must fully customize the payment method in the Merchant Center.
