A list of hardware and operating systems you can use with commercetools InStore.
Supported hardware
The following devices are supported for use with commercetools InStore. You can also see the list of supported devices in the InStore colleague app. To do this:
- Log in to the InStore colleague app.
- On the left-hand navigation, click Manage Devices.
- Expand the type of device you want to view.
- Edit or add a device.
- Click the Supported Device field to view the list of supported devices.
Printers

- Epson TM series
- Seiko Instruments RP series
- Star mC series
- Citizen CT series
- Fujitsu FP series
For more information about the supported printers and any printers that are not listed, contact your commercetools representative.
Cash drawers
The InStore colleague app can accommodate the switch polarity of cash drawers. InStore automatically registers each cash drawer's polarity by interrogating the device upon first use.
InStore supports the following cash drawers:
- APG
- Almost any cash drawer that can connect to a supported printer
Scanners
InStore supports a range of scanners including:
- Most Symbol, Honeywell, and Motorola scanners
- Almost any appropriately configured USB scanner
- Device camera
Pin entry devices (PEDs)
InStore supports the following PEDs:
- Verifone (for example, the P400Plus and P400 models)
- Almost any PED that is supported by the retailer's payment services provider
Workstations
We recommend running the browser in a locked-down (kiosk) mode for in-store workstations. It prevents the user from accessing the browser's standard back, forward, refresh, and URL navigation features.
InStore supports the following workstations:
- Apple iPods, iPads, and iPhones
- Android tablets and mobile phones
- Windows desktops and tablets
If you build a storefront user experience that will run on a touch-enabled device, include an on-screen keyboard or keypad in areas such as login fields, search or filter fields, and cart controls for manual discounts and item quantities.
Safes
InStore supports the following safes:
- Physical safe of retailer's choice
- Cash drawer that you designated to act as the store safe
Supported operating systems
InStore supports the following mobile operating systems:
- ChromiumOS (version 129.0 or later)
- Windows, if supported by the manufacturer
- Android, if supported by the manufacturer
- macOS and iOS, if supported by the manufacturer
We've developed and tested commercetools InStore on the following browsers:
