Product description

The Connect runtime environment enables the development and deployment of integrations to and from commercetools. It is aimed at merchants looking to expand and customize their commerce setup, as well as developers looking to create commerce solutions and customization.
A key feature of Connect is its elimination of the need for dedicated infrastructure. It provides the necessary runtime environment, simplifying the management of integrations. Developers can configure and deploy Connect applications, referred to as Connectors, using the Connect API. With the "Connectors" Add-On (previously also listed as just "Connect"), application developers and merchants have the flexibility to use pre-existing integrations from the marketplace instantly. They can also extend these integrations or develop custom ones tailored to specific Projects, or broadly applicable and available for a wider range of Projects. These applications undergo certification to ensure functionality, security, and compatibility with Composable Commerce.

Example use cases include integrating payment service providers, order management systems, content management systems, and more. With the different types of connectors (pre-built, extended, and custom), Connect can cover all integration needs of a merchant.

Limits for the number and/or type of connectors are defined in your agreement with commercetools.

If not included in your current agreement with commercetools, please contact your commercetools representative if you are interested in making use of Connect.

Connector usage

commercetools is not responsible or liable for any Connectors. The use or purchase of Connector implementations is solely between the customer and the third-party service provider.

If commercetools or the customer uses, installs, or enables any Connectors with Connect, the customer acknowledges that commercetools may transmit or receive data—including personal information—on their behalf to enable these Connectors to work with Connect. Any data exchange or interaction between the customer and the third-party service provider is governed by the third party's privacy policy and terms. commercetools is not responsible for any data disclosure, modification, or deletion resulting from these interactions.

Connect is intended to be mainly used for running system integrations and commercetools customizations like for example Merchant Center Custom Apps.

All Connect usage is under the Connect fair usage policy.

Defined scope

The Connect product includes the managed infrastructure that hosts the technical integration code, alongside the Connect API for configuring and deploying integrations. The managed infrastructure provided includes hosting for containerized apps, an artifact registry, encryption services, and a telemetry solution.
