Notes to defined scope
-
Product Discounts are included and apply directly to Product Variant prices. However, the interaction between Product Discounts and Cart Discounts, controlled by the Project's DiscountCombinationMode, only takes effect when a Cart is present. Cart Discounts, Discount Codes, and Cart-level discount evaluation are not part of the Product Catalog product.
-
Reservations and the reflection of inventory changes driven by Carts, Orders, Order returns, and Order Edits, depend on functionality not included in the Product Catalog product. Product Variant availability updates triggered by transactional activity are not part of Product Catalog on its own.
-
Within Product Catalog, only the following catalog-related resource types are in scope for the Import API: Products, Product Drafts, Product Variants, Embedded Prices, Product Types, Categories, Standalone Prices, Inventory Entries, Product Selections, and Product Tailoring. Import of Customers, Business Units, Orders, Discount Codes, and Types is provided by other commercetools products and is not part of Product Catalog.
